Reading is fun at Muir's Family Literacy Night

The Family Literacy Night at John Muir Elementary School was a big success. Families were able to enjoy literacy activities like fun tongue twisters, reading tic-tac-toe, a book fair and a book giveaway. Families were served pizza and looked on with wonder at the annual book-themed dessert display of 720 cupcakes. The display is part of a Muir tradition of showcasing the cover of a book through the clever use of frosting on cupcakes. This year’s book was Eric Carle’s “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.”
